Version history and restoring
Changed something you shouldn't have? Every site keeps earlier versions you can go back to.
When versions are saved
- Before changes you make in the dashboard (uploads, a .zip, editing a page, deleting or renaming), through the API, or with an AI assistant. Changes made close together share one version, so there's at most one every 10 minutes.
- Every night, if you changed files over SFTP since the last version.
- When you ask: on your site's History tab, press Save a version now, with a note such as "Before the redesign".
Nothing is saved when nothing has changed, so the list only shows real changes.
Restoring
- Open your site's History tab and choose View and restore next to a version.
- You'll see what restoring would do: files changed back, files brought back, and files that weren't there yet and would be removed.
- Restore one file with Restore this file, download it with Download, or press Restore the whole site to this version.
Before a restore, we save the site as it is, so you can undo the restore from the same list.
How long versions are kept
- Free: 7 days. Personal: 30 days. Pro: 90 days.
- Versions don't count against your storage. If they'd take more than your plan's storage again, the oldest go first. The newest version of each site always stays.
- Deleting a site deletes its versions too.
