Publish a Dreamweaver site to Pagehaus
Adobe Dreamweaver has its own SFTP client built in: once Pagehaus is set up as your site's server, publishing is the Put button. Dreamweaver's templates and library items are written into each page as you save, so the files it uploads are plain HTML that Pagehaus serves as they are.
1. Create your site on Pagehaus
Create a free site if you haven't yet. It'll be live at
https://yoursite.pagehaus.site/, and its name is your SFTP username.
2. Add Pagehaus as a server
- Open Site → Manage Sites, select your site and click Edit, then choose Servers and click + to add a server.
- Fill in the Basic tab:
- Server Name
- Pagehaus (any name)
- Connect using
- SFTP
- SFTP Address
sftp.pagehaus.app- Port
2022(not the default 22)- Authentication
- Username and Password
- Username
yoursite- Password
- your Pagehaus password
- Root Directory
/- Web URL
https://yoursite.pagehaus.site/(or your own domain)
- Click Test. The first time, Dreamweaver shows the server's fingerprint: compare it with the ones on Connecting with SFTP. Then Save, make sure the Remote box is ticked for this server, and save the site.
To log in with an SSH key instead, choose Private Key File and add the key's public half to your login under your site's SFTP tab. Dreamweaver needs keys in OpenSSH format.
3. Publish
In the Files panel, select your site's root folder and click Put (the up arrow) to upload everything. After that, put single pages as you finish them, or use Synchronize to upload only what changed.
Contact forms
Forms built for PHP won't run on Pagehaus, but you don't need PHP: set the form's action to
/_form/contact and its method to POST in the Properties panel, and messages are emailed
to you. See contact forms.
Shared headers without templates
Dreamweaver templates work fine, since they write the shared parts into every page. If you'd rather keep one header file that's included when the page is served, Pagehaus also runs Server Side Includes.
Your own domain
On a Personal or Pro plan, add the domain under your site's Domains tab and set the DNS records it shows (custom domains guide). Change the Web URL in Dreamweaver to match; the SFTP settings stay the same.
