Publish from Bootstrap Studio to Pagehaus

Bootstrap Studio is a desktop app for designing sites visually. It can publish straight to your own hosting over SFTP, so once it's set up, putting your design online on Pagehaus is one click.

1. Create your site on Pagehaus

Create a free site if you haven't yet. Its name is your SFTP username, and it'll be live at https://yoursite.pagehaus.site/. If you'll use your own domain, a Personal or Pro plan adds it.

2. Add an SFTP connection in Bootstrap Studio

  1. Open Cloud → Manage Websites and choose the SFTP Connections tab.
  2. Click Add Connection and fill in:
    Host
    sftp.pagehaus.app
    Port
    2022 (not the default 22)
    Username
    yoursite
    Directory
/ (the top of your site)
    Authentication
Password (your Pagehaus password), or an SSH key you've added to your SFTP login
  3. Click Test Connection, then save. The first time, compare the server's fingerprint with the ones on Connecting with SFTP.

Bootstrap Studio only accepts SSH keys in OpenSSH format. To use a key, add its public half to your login under your site's SFTP tab.

3. Publish

Click Publish (top right), pick your Pagehaus connection and publish. Next time, use Publish Changes from the arrow next to Publish to upload only what changed.

Contact forms

Bootstrap Studio's own form handling is part of its hosting. On Pagehaus, select your form, set its action attribute to /_form/contact and its method to post, and messages are emailed to you. Add a hidden field named _redirect with the value /thanks.html to show your own thank-you page. See contact forms for the details.

Shared headers

Bootstrap Studio keeps headers and footers in sync while you design, and writes them into every page when it publishes, so you don't need Pagehaus's Server Side Includes for that. Keep editing in Bootstrap Studio rather than the Pagehaus editor, or your next publish will overwrite the changes.

Your own domain

On a Personal or Pro plan, add the domain under your site's Domains tab and set the DNS records it shows (custom domains guide). Your Bootstrap Studio connection doesn't change.
